Shipping Policy
This Shipping Policy explains how Carvera processes, packs, and ships furniture and home décor orders to buyers internationally. It should be read together with our Terms & Conditions.
1. Shipping Terms (Incoterms)
1.1 Unless otherwise agreed in writing, all orders are shipped on FOB (Free on Board) basis from our nominated Indian port of loading (e.g., [Insert Port, e.g., Chennai/Mundra/Nhava Sheva]).
1.2 Alternate terms — CIF (Cost, Insurance & Freight), CFR, or EXW — can be arranged on request and will be reflected in your proforma invoice.
1.3 Under FOB terms, the Buyer (or their appointed freight forwarder) is responsible for arranging ocean freight booking, marine insurance, and destination-side logistics from the port of loading onwards.
2. Production & Dispatch Timeline
2.1 Production/procurement begins only after receipt of the 70% advance payment as per our Terms & Conditions.
2.2 Estimated production lead time is 4–12 weeks depending on product type, customization, and order volume. This will be confirmed in writing at the time of order confirmation.
2.3 Once goods are ready, the Buyer will be notified to arrange vessel booking (if under FOB) and to complete the remaining 30% balance payment prior to loading.
3. Packaging
3.1 All goods are packed for export using industry-standard materials — fumigated wooden crates/pallets (compliant with ISPM-15 for international wood packaging), corrugated cartons, foam/bubble wrap, and edge protection — suitable for sea freight handling.
3.2 Custom or additional protective packaging can be arranged on request, at additional cost.
4. Loading & Documentation
4.1 Goods are loaded onto the container/vessel only after the balance 30% payment is received in full, as per our Terms & Conditions.
4.2 We will provide standard export shipping documents, including:

Fumigation Certificate (for wooden packaging, on request)
Additional certifications or legalizations requested by the Buyer's country may incur extra costs and time.
5. Transit Time & Delays
5.1 Estimated ocean transit times vary by destination port and shipping line and will be shared at the time of booking.
5.2 Carvera is not responsible for delays caused by shipping line schedules, port congestion, customs clearance, weather, or other factors beyond our reasonable control (see Force Majeure clause in our Terms & Conditions).
6. Import Duties, Taxes & Customs Clearance
6.1 The Buyer is solely responsible for import clearance, customs duties, taxes, and compliance with import regulations in the destination country, unless the order is placed on a DDP (Delivered Duty Paid) basis, which must be agreed in writing in advance.
6.2 We recommend Buyers confirm import requirements (e.g., wood/furniture import restrictions, fumigation certificates) with their local customs authority prior to placing an order.
7. Risk & Title Transfer
7.1 Risk in the goods passes to the Buyer once goods are loaded onto the vessel at the port of shipment (FOB point), in line with Incoterms® 2020.
7.2 Title to the goods remains with Carvera until full payment (100%) has been received.
8. Damaged or Lost Shipments
8.1 As risk transfers at the port of loading, any loss or damage occurring during ocean transit is covered under the Buyer's marine insurance (arranged by the Buyer under FOB terms, or by us under CIF terms if applicable).
8.2 Any shortage or damage claim must be reported in writing within 7 days of delivery, with photographic evidence and reference to the packing list/invoice, as per our Terms & Conditions.
9. Domestic (India) Shipments
For any domestic India deliveries, goods are shipped via [Insert courier/logistics partner], with estimated delivery of [Insert timeframe]. Domestic shipping charges, if any, will be communicated separately from export orders.
